TIIP is seeking new leaders to help shape the future of impact investing in Canada.

The Table of Impact Investment Practitioners (TIIP) is a vibrantly diverse, pan-Canadian community of practice bringing together the energy and expertise of Canada’s social finance fund managers. United by our commitment to building a just, sustainable, and inclusive economy, we aim to strengthen the social purpose marketplace by activating capital for community-rooted solutions.

As a network, TIIP serves its members:

  • As a peer community for learning, support, mentorship, and the exchange of leading practices
  • As an ecosystem ally, mobilizing knowledge and partnerships for greater collective impact
  • As a policy voice, amplifying shared priorities for an enabling social finance environment
  • As a platform for action, advancing the tools, research, and collaborations our sector needs

Now Recruiting: Board of Directors

We are currently seeking new Directors to join our national Board. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute strategic leadership, governance oversight, and deep sector insight as we enter a new phase of growth and impact.

Board Directors help steward the organization’s mission and long-term vision. In addition to regular Board meetings, members may participate in committees such as Finance or Governance, or engage in special initiatives tied to ecosystem development.

To stand for election, candidates must be TIIP members in good standing.

Who We’re Looking For

We aim to build a Board that reflects the full diversity of Canada’s impact investing ecosystem — across geographies, fund structures, communities served, and lived experiences.

We’re especially interested in individuals who bring experience, expertise, or leadership in one or more of the following areas:

  • Community-rooted impact investing
  • Employment and training initiatives for marginalized groups
  • Newcomer settlement and integration
  • Poverty reduction and economic inclusion
  • Affordable housing and housing innovation
  • Food systems and food security
  • Clean technology or sustainable consumption
  • Disability inclusion and health equity
  • Social finance in rural, remote, and Northern communities

We welcome and encourage applications from Indigenous Peoples, Black and other racialized individuals, people with disabilities, 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and those with lived experience of exclusion or marginalization.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • A clear commitment to TIIP’s mission and values
  • Passion for inclusive and equitable approaches to impact investing
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Strategic thinking and sound judgment
  • Willingness to actively contribute time and energy to TIIP’s work

Time Commitment

  • Directors serve a three-year term beginning in June 2025, following formal election at the Annual General Meeting.
  • The Board meets 8-12 times per year (virtually).
  • Board members are expected to join at least one committee or ecosystem working group and attend TIIPing Point meetings (up to 12 per year).
  • Additional planning sessions or board development activities may be scheduled periodically.
